The Power of Small Seeds

Good morning, children!
It’s so good to see you all here today. I hope you know how special you are not just to your family and friends, but to God. Today we’re going to talk about something really important: how small things can become big things when we give them to God.

God Uses Small Things

In the Bible, Jesus told a story about a mustard seed. It’s found in Matthew 13:31–32. He said:

“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, when it grows, it becomes the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, and birds come and rest in its branches.”

That’s amazing, isn’t it? A tiny seed so small you can barely see it can grow into a big tree. And that’s how God works in our lives too.

You’re Growing Too

You might feel small now, but God is growing something special in you. Every time you pray, every time you help someone, every time you listen and obey, you’re planting seeds of faith.
Here are a few ways you plant seeds:

  • When you pray for someone who’s sick

  • When you help your mom or dad at home

  • When you share with a friend

  • When you sing to God during worship

These may seem like small things, but they matter to God. He sees them, and He uses them to do something great.

Stories from the Bible

The Bible shows us this again and again:

  • A woman gave her last bit of flour and oil to Elijah, and God made sure she had enough every day (1 Kings 17).
  • A little boy gave his lunch to Jesus—just five loaves and two fish—and Jesus used it to feed thousands of people (John 6).
  • A woman who was sick touched Jesus’ robe, and she was healed because of her faith (Luke 8).

Keep Doing Good Things

Even if what you do seems small, don’t stop. Keep showing love, keep praying, keep doing what’s right. God is growing something beautiful in you. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9:

“Let us not become tired of doing good. At the right time we will harvest a blessing, if we don’t give up.”

Let’s Pray Together

“Dear Jesus,
Thank You for loving me. Help me to keep doing good, even when it feels small. Please grow my faith and help me to be kind, helpful, and loving every day. I want to serve You with all my heart. Amen.”
